Dansk Motorsamling er idag Nordeuropas mest omfattende samling af historisk maskineri, med mere end 450 forskellige motorer. Som et væsentligt bidrag til industrialiseringen, er disse i hovedparten Dansk fremstillede og således evidente i forståelsen af udviklingen i Dansk industrihistorie. Industri, søfart og landbrug har meget, at takke danske motorkonstruktører for, men også den almindelige borger høstede frugterne af de innovative kræfters arbejde. Levering af strøm, vand, fødevarer og infrastruktur var således kun muligt med maskineri af forskellig art. Med dette i baghovedet, er der ikke langt til forståelsen af vigtigheden i; at dokumentere udviklingen af forbrændingsmotoren.

The Danish Motor Collection is today Northern Europe's most comprehensive collection of historical machinery, with more than 450 different engines. As a significant contribution to industrialization, these are mainly Danish-made and thus evident in the understanding of the development in Danish industrial history. Industry, shipping and agriculture have a lot to thank Danish engine designers for, but also the ordinary citizen reaped the fruits of the work of the innovative forces. Supply of electricity, water, food and infrastructure was thus only possible with machinery of various kinds. With this in mind, there is not far to the understanding of the importance of; to document the development of the internal combustion engine.
