Painting conservation: 'Anne, Wife of James Brodie and Her Son' (James Northcote, 1800)

Painting conservator Owen Davison (Conservation Studio) explains the process of conserving the James Northcote portrait of Anne Brodie, wife of James Brodie, and her son William. This portrait was painted between 1799-1800 - we know this due to the age of William in the portrait. This portrait is part of the original collection of Brodie Castle and has now been returned to its home in the Dining Room at Brodie Castle, Moray.

The National Trust for Scotland would like to offer our sincere thanks to John Yeoman, who kindly supported the conservation of this portrait in loving memory of his wife, Pauline Yeoman.
