Miniature Goldendoodle Dog Breed Profile | Dogs 101 - Golden Retriever Poodle mix

Miniature Goldendoodle appeared around the mid-1990s and is a hybrid of Golden Retriever and Miniature Poodle. It has the gentleness of the Golden Retriever and intelligence of a Miniature Poodle. They are also called Groodle or Doodle. This breed is successfully bred as therapy dogs, guide dogs, and assistance dogs.

The reason behind this hybrid breed was to create a larger Doodle that maintained the desired low-dander, low-shedding coat and that possessed the intelligent and friendly nature of the Golden Retriever.
