While not every movie needs a sequel, studios are always trying to find the next big franchise. Sadly, not every franchise can be Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, or even Twilight, and plenty of film franchises have ended before they ever got off the ground. Maybe these filmmakers put so much thought into building a franchise that they didn’t stop to make sure that their initial film would hook audiences in. From the reboot of the Fantastic Four that was anything but fantastic to the Cat in the Hat film that offended Dr. Seuss’ widow, here are some movies that were so bad that they had to cancel the sequel.
