American vs. Dutch people arriving at parties

Apparently it's more of an American thing to arrive at parties a little later. Not in the Netherlands! The Dutch arrive on time or—gasp—even a little earlier! In my experience, many people try to arrive a little later in the United States to give the host more time and also to avoid one of the only people there. Dutchies don't have that problem.
