The Witches of Delnabo: Besoms and Currachs (The Occult)

Magic and witchcraft were once an integral part of the Scottish psyche, everyone from kings and queens to farmers and fishermen, knew of the dangers of black magic and worried daily about their consequences. As Christianity became more widespread in Scotland, the tales of wicked or evil magics increased owing to the demonisation of the older belief and religions. It is at this time that the devil himself begins to make more personal appearances in the stories and the practitioners of these arcane rituals become targeted and removed from the general populace. Todays tale tells of the evils of witchcraft and I hope reviles to you the thinking of the time. The Witches of Delnabo
