The Patterns Repeat
Narcissistic people tend to follow predictable actions and this patterns tend to repeat. As a result of this it is inevitable that our stories are all very familiar and eerily similar. Toxic people with strong narcissistic traits tend to do the same thing, respond the same way, and employe the same tactics to get what they want. They can pretend to be caring parents and blast that all over social media to “prove they are a good parent”. They will also portray themselves as victims and make you out to the abuser. It doesn’t matter if it’s the man or women, they employe the same patterns and actions to accomplish those goals. The problem is you get stuck trying to cooperate and reason with them, thinking they will ultimately shift their focus on being angry, or the victim and start to co-parent. The problem is that will never happen and they won’t change. Recognizing this reality is the critical first step to starting to get your life and sanity back. Ultimately you just can’t reason with someone who is unreasonable.
