The Burbank restaurant openly flaunted rules from the Los Angeles Department of Health to close indoor dining during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic on constitutional rights. The family-owned business became a bit of a media moment at a time when people were wrestling with anxiety over public safety and personal freedoms. Protests in front of the building happened, the owner's son was arrested three times during the fiasco and the city of Burbank even put up a chain link fence restricting people from entering. The family eventually sold the restaurnant which put and end to the drama.
