Magnificent Rafale - RAF Cosford Airshow 2018
The magnificent Armée de l'Air (French Air Force) Rafale Solo display, flown with exceptional panache by Captain Sébastien 'Babouc' Nativel, during the RAF Cosford Airshow 2018.
For this display Captain Nativel deservedly won the Hartree Memorial Trophy from RAF Cosford, rewarding the most accurate, brilliant flying demonstration.
Captain Nativel was chosen to be the official pilot of the Armée de l'Air Rafale solo from 2018 until 2020. He is the 5th pilot of the French air force to have this responsibility.
He left his home on the island of Reunion at the age of 18 to fulfill his dream to become a fighter pilot. At 36 and after traveling the world, he flew the Rafale as a Patrol Leader, based at Saint-Dizier. Located at air base 113 Saint-Dizier in Haute Marne, the Transformation Squadron Rafale is the training unit for the air force pilots assigned to fly the Rafale.
Captain Nativel has been an instructor at ETR for two years. He began his career as an operational pilot flying the Mirage 2000N on Squadron 3/4 "Limousin" before going on to the Rafale on Squadron 1/7 "Provence".
