Edward Ericson: Teaching The Gulag Archipelago to American college students
Edward E. Ericson, Jr. was Professor Emeritus of English at Calvin College. He is the author of "Solzhenitsyn and the Modern World", and he also served as the editor of the abridged, single-volume version of The Gulag Archipelego, which was authorized by Solzhenitsyn.
In this interview clip from 2010, Ericson describes the common reaction he received from students exposed to the real horror of the Soviet Gulag for the first time.
