Guide to Denim Fades

Denim may be the only fabric that looks better with age. In fact, denim heads love their worn and faded jeans so much that they've come up with a few terms for the different types of fading:
1: Whiskers - The spot where your hip and leg meet often causing long fading lines known as whiskers or whiskering.
2: Honeycomb - Found behind the knee where the denim bunches together creating this unique pattern that resembles a honeycomb.
3: Stacks - The excess material at the hem of your jeans that stacks on top of itself.
4: Train Tracks - One of the more rare types of fades, train tracks run down the outer seam of your pant leg.
The Japanese term "Atari" refers to the most common fading and loosely translates to "success". This is telling in that most denim enthusiasts see a well-worn and faded pair of jeans to be the ultimate goal.
"You've gotta earn your fades!"
