Is Russia flexing its space muscles? Soyuz 2.1a lifts off with unknown payload
The Russian Aerospace Forces launched a Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with a military satellite from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, the Russian Defense Ministry said.. A medium-class Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle carrying a spacecraft for the Russian Defence Ministry was launched from the Plesetsk launch site in Arkhangelsk Region by combat crews of the Space Forces," the defense ministry said.
