The Manhattan Loop - a cycle around Manhattan Island

If you love riding bikes and find yourself in New York, try the Manhattan Loop...a route that takes you all round the outside of Manhattan. Most of it is on dedicated cycle paths next to the river, on the West along the Hudson and on the East along the East River and up the the Harlem River. The path is well marked and takes a few diversions on the East side into the city itself (there are works ongoing to make a full circular route but up on the NE side, next to the FDR parkway, there is no path so you have to divert into the Upper East side through Harlem and then across the top of Washington Heights).
It's a fantastic way to see all the faces of New York and spot some of the famous landmarks along the way......
