Le psaume 130, plus connu sous l’intitulé De profundis, lieu d’expression de la détresse humaine et de l’espoir du secours divin, est l’un des textes bibliques les plus connus et cités. Il sera le point de départ de nombreuses compositions, notamment chez Johann Sebastian Bach, qui s’appuiera sur ce texte aussi bien pour la cantate BWV 131, le prélude pour orgue BWV 745, le choral BWV 687 ou ses deux Passions. Ses compositions trouveront un écho dans les poèmes de Baudelaire, Stefan George ou Georg Trakl, que mettront en musique Berg et Schönberg dans la Suite lyrique ou le deuxième Quatuor.
Sarah Traubel invite Andreas Scholl et le Morphing Chamber Orchestra pour explorer ce leitmotiv à travers trois siècles de musique, du baroque aux éclats expressionnistes et post-romantiques, et s’attachent à nous en partager la beauté universelle.

Psalm 130, De Profundis, expressing human distress and the hope for divine mercy, is one of the best-known and most frequently quoted of biblical texts, and the starting point for numerous compositions, notably by J. S. Bach, who used this text as a basis for several works: his cantata BWV 131, the organ prelude BWV 745, the chorale prelude BWV 687, and his two extant Passions. His compositions were later echoed in the poems by Baudelaire, Stefan George and Georg Trakl that were set by Alban Berg and Arnold Schoenberg (Lyric Suite and String Quartet no. 2, respectively).
Sarah Traubel is joined by Andreas Scholl and the Morphing Chamber Orchestra in an exploration of this theme through three centuries of music, from Baroque to the Expressionist and post-Romantic periods, thus sharing with us its universal beauty.
