Through Motor Charging

I am hoping to find a low cost way to charge the high voltage battery in my electric car project. It looks like it will be possible to integrate the charging into the drive inverter electronics.

There are many published methods on how to do this but it does not appear that the OEMs use these methods very much. I am not sure why this is but further testing might explain why.
