The Fathaby ~ Arragh (2009)

Here's a throwback to May 2009 with Arragh playing live at the Centenary Centre in Peel during the Feish Chiaull event. Images from Shennaghys Jiu festival 2008.

This piece is called “The Fathaby” and is based around the Manks traditional dance tune ~ “The Fathaby Jig”. The tunes starts in a sedately 4/4 time as opposed to its usual 6/8 jig time, then morphs into its usual jig format. A version of this tune can be found in Ireland under the name (one of) “Biddy From Sligo”.
