How to Produce Effortless Spiccato with Elegance and Control

In this video I aim to deconstruct what is required for a quality spiccato stroke. Obviously, versatility is needed, as different types of spiccato are required in different musical contexts. However, here I break down the basic parameters in which you should investigate (elements such as height vs width proportion, sounding points, amount of hair etc.), as well as key problems such as Co-ordination and String crossings.

I also talk a bit about the use of the Colle bow stroke, as I believe it is an indispensable motion that is required to achieve full control over Spiccato. You'll see how I reconcile the two strokes together in this video.

Finally, this video contains 10 SUPER PRACTICAL exercises that can be used to develop spiccato as well as massively clean up spiccato passages in your pieces.
