Radicalization in India’s neighbourhood | MPAGD 25 | Usanas Foundation

Radicalization and extremism in India’s neighborhood pose a major security
threat. Pakistan's support for Khalistan terrorism and attacks like 26/11, Uri, Pathankot, and Pulwama remain significant concerns. In Bangladesh, rising Islamic extremism, especially after Sheikh Hasina’s ousting, has empowered groups like JeM Bangladesh, Hefazat-e-Islam, and Hizb ut-Tahrir. Sri Lanka’s 2019 Easter bombings, with links to radicalized groups in southern India, highlight regional threats. Growing extremism in Nepal, the Maldives, and conflicts in West Asia further complicate India’s security landscape.
