“Faith Journeys with God in the Land” Part 37

This episode was recorded in the BIMT office where the stories from Acts 3 and 4 are shared. The context of these narratives is the Temple Mount, specially the inner courts of the Temple and the “Beautiful Gate.” Most suggest that this gate was none other than “Nicanor’s Gate.” It was the most grand of all the temple gates. Other scholars suggest that the Beautiful Gate was one of the Huldah Gates on the south end of the Temple Mount.

The Apostles, Peter and John, displayed boldness in how they shared their faith in Christ. They did this despite the opposition by the Jewish religious leaders. They proclaim that salvation is found in no one else except through Jesus! I suggest reading through on your own Acts 3 and 4 to get a fuller sense of the ministry of these apostles.

Thinking of Peter, we see the growth of his own faith walk with God. Peter previously was the one who failed Jesus. But now, full of the Spirit, he was bold in his faith. So despite your past timidness, fear, or even failures, strive to live boldly in your own walk of faith today!

Note: Dr. John’s Connecting the Dots book is available on our BIMT web site. Also, the images used behind Dr. John in this episode attempt to capture what the Temple in Jerusalem looked like. Since the Temple no longer stands today, these images are the best we can do to help us envision the context of Acts 3 and 4. Images from today’s Western Wall were also used.
