Anatomy of Superficial Back Muscles - Extrinsic Back Muscles - Complete Anatomy | Doctor Speaks
Hi viewers!
Welcome Back to Doctor Speaks!
This tutorial is about the Anatomy of Superficial Back Muscles, also called the Extrinsic Back Muscles. The superficial or Extrinsic Back Muscles lie underneath the skin and superficial fascia and these muscles form the bulk of superficial muscular layer of the back. These muscles are the Trapezius, Latissimus Dorsi, Levator Scapulae, Rhomboid Minor and Rhomboid Major. All these muscles connect the vertebral spines to the shoulder bones - the clavicle, Scapula and Humerus. All these muscles are therefore associated with the movements of the upper limb.
We have already described the anatomy of each of these muscles individually in our previous tutorials but in this tutorial, we have worked out to explain these muscles combined in a single tutorial, for those who are interested in studying these muscles combinedly.
We hope this tutorial helps you!
Thank You.
