As the LORD God was leading Jacob through his life, He brought him to a point of radical transformation. In a climactic event, Jacob found himself confronted by the Lord and wrestling with Him all night, struggling for his life and blessing. In that confrontation, Jacob received a blessing from the LORD, who then ratified the blessing and life change with a brand-new name: Israel. The proof of Jacob’s radical transformation is seen almost immediately, as the next day Jacob engages his brother Esau after more than 20 years of separation.

Proof #3: A person transformed by the grace of God will grow in their willingness to give public testimony to the works of God. (vs.5, 11)

Proof #4: A person transformed by the grace of God will grow in their desire to bless others with the blessings God has given. (vs.11)

Proof #5: A person transformed by the grace of God will grow in their commitment to glorify God as their God. (vs.18-20)
