November Lounging - Seek Outside Guardian: Hot Tent Season Has Arrived

As the weather has been cooling down, I’ve been anticipating the return of hot tent season.
After a day of walking around outdoors, I decided to set up the Seek Outside Guardian two person hot tent trekking pole shelter. I setup the medium titanium woodstove, also from Seek Outside, and lounged in the tent for several hours into the late night. I heated up some ham and bacon, and sipped on some hot water, courtesy of the wood stove.

I’ve owned this tent for awhile but hadn’t had time to set it up yet. I decided this was as good a time as any. The following day, I seam sealed the stitch points on the shelter with a 50/50 combination of silicone seam grip and mineral spirits, applied with a plumber’s acid brush. Most silnylon shelters aren’t seam sealed and this process prevents water from dripping into the shelter in rainy seasons.

I plan to use this shelter more and install the optional inner nest when the weather is warmer. In the winter months, I have the luxury of a stove jack, so this shelter can be used all year round.
