Autumn in South Korea is a Magical Time #단풍기

One of the best times to visit South Korea is during the Autumn season. Here’s some shots from 덕수궁 (Deoksugung Palace).

If it hasn’t begun already, the leaves are going to start to change colors. The mountainsides become aflame with vivid oranges and yellows, red-tinged leaves that seemed to have transformed overnight. I love 단풍기 (leaves-changing-time) in Korea. Sometimes, my eldest uncle will take us out in his little car to drive into the nearby mountains to see the changing leaves. It’s meditative and quietly reminds us that this is the original self of this country - not the k-pop, hallyu, colorful, shiny Korea, but the Land of the Morning Calm.
