Currently, no treatment is shown to cure Autism, but several interventions are used with young children to help them. These interventions are shown to reduce behavioural problems, improve cognitive ability and daily living skills, and help the child to integrate into the community. These interventions include:

- Occupational therapy, which teaches skills such as dressing, eating, and bathing. It aims to help the person to live as independently as possible.
- Speech therapy, which helps improve communication skills. This includes verbal communication and aided communication.
- Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), which helps to improve a variety of life skills.
- Play therapy, which uses play to improve the child's social and emotional skills, to help increase their language or communication skills, and expand the ways they relate to other people.
