July 2020 is probably the best month for Astronomy enthusiasts. It started with a penumbral lunar eclipse on July 5. There will be an opposition of Jupiter on July 14, an opposition of Saturn on July 21, and a double meteor shower to end the month. But there is yet another celestial body that will dominate the sky in July 2020 - comet NEOWISE.

Comet NEOWISE was recently discovered on March 27, 2020, by NASA's NEOWISE infrared space telescope. It is about 5 km across. Earlier NEOWISE was visible in the morning sky but now it will be visible even at dusk. The video also contains a clip of Neowise from ISS live!

How to watch comet NEOWISE from India?

For India and the neighboring countries and those on nearby latitude, NEOWISE will be visible in the northwest for about 20 minutes after Sunset, starting from July 14. The farther north you are, the more opportunities you will have to watch comet Neowise.

How to watch comet NEOWISE from the US?

For countries far north at latitude 30 degrees N, i.e., Northern US and Canada, comet Neowise is still visible at dawn. It is again visible at dusk. The reason comet Neowise is visible both at dawn and dusk is that it lies far in the north, in the region around the North star. Thus it is close to being circumpolar.
