Pyin Oo Lwin | Scenic Hill Station with Waterfalls & Gardens

Pyin Oo Lwin or May Myo is a scenic hill station in Myanmar. Due to its cooling weather, it used to be the station of the British during colonial period. I lived there for two years during my high school days. Everytime I visit this places, I feel nostalgic. The last time I visit was about 6 years ago. The road to Pyin Oo Lwin from Mandalay is very impressive, I felt like I was back in SG very smooth ride. It used to take 2hours plus. Now we can get there in about 1.5hr. The places featured in my videos are:

1) The View Resort & Restaurant overlooking Dat Taw Gyaint Waterfall
The entry fee is 1000Ks per person including one drink and access to the viewing point of the waterfall. There is an access down to the waterfall from there, estimated 30min trekking time. Its located at Anesakhan.

2) December Garden & Farm
This is a privately owned garden and farm, This was my first visit and I was told they recently extended their garden. Its rather big land which also occupies two small waterfalls you see in my videos. The swimming is not prohibited, but there is no lifeguard. So you gotta swim at your own risk. From the entrance to the waterfalls, it took about 5min slow drive. They are still doing the upgrading works around the waterfall areas, I am excited to see what the end results will look like in the future. The entrance fee is 1000Ks which is similar rate as Botanic Garden (for the local).

3) Kan Daw Gyi Botanic Garden
I always pay a visit to this Garden everytime I come to Pyin Oo Lwin. I have to say its degrading in my opinion, not much flowers blooming and the lawn grass are also thinning, probably they are in the process of the preparation for the upcoming flower festival. There is an instagram-worthy cafe in the garden called "Bamboo Cafe & Restaurant". The entrance fee to the garden is 1000Ks for the local and US$5 for the foreigner at the moment.

4) Shopping at Sweater and Souvenirs Shops
This is another ritual to do when in Pyin Oo Lwin. Buy some sweater and local food such as Wine, Sunflower Seeds, Preserved Fruits, Coffee Powder, and milk products.

I only spent there a day, so could not cover all places. If you are a nature person, I'd like to recommend putting Pyin Oo Lwin in your Myanmar itinerary.
