How to Crack Your Master Lock Combo in 3 Easy Steps

After watching a number of videos on how to recover my Master Lock combo, I still wasn't able to figure out my combo code following one set of steps, so I decided to create my own video combining the best techniques I found.

The three steps I list do not require any tools, pen or paper:

1. Figure out the first number of the combo code
Apply just enough pressure to the u-shaped part of the lock so that when you are rotating the dial, it clicks in only one spot. That is the first number of the combo code.

2. Figure out the last number of the combo code
Find three sets of four numbers (in increments of 10) that "click" as you go around the dial. For me they were 0-10-20-30, 3-13-23-33 and 7-17-27-37. For each set of numbers, they should each "click" at about the same position for each number. Out of the three sets of numbers, the one number that "clicks" at a different position is the third number of the combo code.

3. Use trial and error to figure out the second number of the combo code
Now that you know the first and third number of the combo code, you can try out different numbers for the second number. My suggestion is to start at 0 and go up in increments of 2 or 2.5. That way, you'll only have to try a maximum of 30 numbers.

The serial number on the back of my Master Lock is 0713M. Hope that helps!
