如何鹽析皂屑 salting out rancid soap scraps

家中有一大堆很早以前已儲下來，疏忽照顧，沒包好，有些已出油班，香水精油夾雜着油耗味的皂，一直被放在一個大膠箱內。閒時我會拿一兩塊來用。

近日把心一橫，將這堆皂全部拿去鹽析，將雜質全部分離出來。鹽析後的皂油耗味大大減少，將五顏六色的色粉卸掉，回復素皂的面貌，感覺煥然一新，而且我覺得洗感還可。

古人做皂因為油不純，鹼不純，而要利用鹽析去確保皂化完全。馬賽皂，阿勒坡古皂也是利用熱製後鹽析的方法去做出來。到現在，我們有優質的油脂，有高純度的鹼，當然不需要鹽析我們的cp/hp皂。但作為手工皂的愛好者，我覺得不妨體驗一下鹽析這個過程，畢竟這個是古法做皂的一個技巧。

I have a lot of soap scraps sitting in my house for quite a long time. Some of them already have DOS, some of them smell rancid. Recently I decided to salt out all of these soap scraps to remove their colours and hopefully remove some of the rancid smell.

Salting out was part of the processes of making soaps in ancient time. At that time, people didn't have pure oils and alkaline so they made use of salting out reaction to remove impurities and excess alkaline in soaps. Aleppo soaps and Marseille soaps were made using hot process together with salting out.

Nowadays we have high quality oils and pure alkaline, we don't need salting out our soaps. However, as a soap lover, it's good to experience how the salting process goes.
