Agro-Waste: A Valuable Resource Being Wasted | Pracheer Dutta | TEDxKITCoEK

The burning issue of burning the rice stalks in the fields of Haryana and Punjab after the harvest is apparently one of the major issues causing polluted air smogs in the national capital of India, Delhi. The rice stalks being of no industrial value are being burned down as urgency to clear the fields for next sowing. Hence, these students from IIT, Delhi took it as a challenge to examine this issue and have an environment friendly solution to it, futher they have created a decentralized system which they achieved by installing simple machines at ground level thus, creating a business model which beautifully amalgamates rural empowerment and agro-waste management. Pracheer Datta , the CEO of Kriya Labs explains this idea, and how his team went from "burning to earning" by pressing this issue and tackling it in an absolute eco-friendly way! Pracheer Dutta COO of Kriya Labs, At Kriya Labs they utilize the Agro waste to make paper, tableware, fabrics and much more. This Agro waste that would be otherwise burnt and contribute to pollution gets utilized in an optimum way.
