Motor Construction - LOT of info, mostly correct

Things like single wire vs multi stranded are highly debatable among engineers and the difference is likely very small. In this situation, if you have just one wrap of wire down the stator, single stranded will be better. If you will have overlapping wires, multistandard will give you more of a 'fill effect' on the stator... I've left these debates out of the video and explained it how I see it because it would have made the video maybe three times longer. Single stranded wire is also cheaper and easier to produce.

Sumax 2207: Don't get this motor, it's no good

2500-2700kv recommended for 5" and 4S regardless of your quad. If it's heavy, use a shallow pitch blade like the DAL T5040C.

2100-2400kv recommended for 6".

My favorite motors right now: BBB 2207, Hyperlite 2207, ZMX X30

The motors I've listed above are all good motors. The ones from banggood are now questionable in light of this new information. I will continue to use banggood but no longer recommend anyone buying anything from them unless you know what you're doing and accept the risk.

The Brother Hobby R5 2207 is a new motor that is not yet popularized. It is basically just an update on the Hyperlite/BH 2207 with the new shaft.

The Underground FPV BB 2207 sale will end on December 31. This is a top of the line motor that is on sale for $14.99. If you need some new motors, you can't go wrong here. (Don't get the BBB 1606 or 2206, they're no good...overheat very easily)

The ZMX motors are 100% hand wound because the factory does not want to invest in automatic winding machines. In addition, the motor is mostly just one wrap of wire down the length of the stator. This combination is what makes the wraps look so damn good and neat. Brother Hobby on the other hand, ONLY uses winding machines. Doesn't mean they're worse in any way, just another way to do it. Doesn't come out quite as neat.

I can go on forever...
