Why Lea's Art Look Confessional #podcastclip #art #artist #confession #berlin

Lea (@leakramhoeller) is an artist based Berlin. She is also the founder of Sunrise Gallery.

We talked about what does it mean to share yourself through paint, through a camera, through a title on a wall and still hold something back.

Is curation dishonesty or just the shape that all communication takes? And when we finally do let something out into the world, does it get lighter or does it just belong to everyone else now?

We talked about art as diary. About the fear of being misunderstood. About selling an image versus sharing a soul. About why it’s sometimes easier to be honest with strangers than with the people who think they already know you.

I use Epidemic Music and Riverside for work. If you use any of the URLs, I get a small payment from them. It helps me greatly :)

Breakfast With a Friend is a slow, one-on-one conversation series under Shepherd (‪@shepherd_06‬). It’s not an interview, a debate or a productivity podcast. It’s two people sitting down (virtually or physically) and letting one simple idea open the door. The core idea has always been people from different cultures, countries, and backgrounds talking honestly and discovering that underneath the differences, the emotional experiences are often the same.

I’m not trying to extract expertise, nor am I trying to “win” the conversation.
I’m not trying to go viral with shock value.
I’m just trying to meet the human behind the identity.
