Was Regina Mills' Redemption Actually Earned?

"Despite the horrible CGI and special effects, Once Upon a Time has always held a special place in my heart. And one of my favorite characters from the series has to be Regina Mills, for the simple fact that she’s one of the few Evil Queens who actually have a character arc, and one that actually showcases the complexity of a villain. Making her one of the best evil queens in media. She’s not just purely evil or good, and throughout the series, we see her descent into villainy and her eventual redemption as a hero. But a lot of people don’t think Regina’s redemption was actually earned, after all, she did torment the entire Enchanted Forest because of one mistake Snow White made as a child. But if you look closer at Regina’s character, it becomes clear that her descent into darkness was much more complex than this. And I think to truly understand it, we have to look at the woman who fundamentally shaped her life, her mother, Cora."
