World population likely to shrink after mid-century due to declines in fertility - researchers

According to a new study published in the Lancet, researchers from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine, estimated that the world population will likely peak in 2064 at around 9.7 billion, and then decline to about 8.8 billion by 2100.
