Republic P-47D Thunderbolt

P-47D at the Hahnweide Oldtimer-Meeting 2019, flown by Jon Gowdy. Aircraft is powered by a Pratt & Whitney R2800 18cyl. Radial engine with over 2500hp.
Engine Startup went a little smoky. It`s a common thing for radial engines to collect some oil in the lower cylinders. That gets burned on engine start.
The B-47 Thunderbolt os one of the biggest and heaviest fighters of WWII with very strong armament.
