Portland November 15th 2021

This is the Tackle 914 crew on charter boat Fins-Up, skipper Dan Clarke out of Portland marina in Dorset. So mid November what do you expect, chilly, overcast bit of rain. Wrong started out a bit misty but soon cleared up and coats came off and we enjoyed a nice very clear sunny day.
Always catch Black Bream down this way even around Christmas time, deep water and quite rocky ground attracts them. Today was exceptional the Bream came thick and fast in serious numbers.
I often point out to you folks that I am there for the fishing and that takes priority over filming. Hence I only ever get to film a percentage of the catches. This day was no different, I was concentrating on fishing and still plenty of action captured by the camera.
We started on the Bream then had a move to try for some Turbot, no success, just doggies and I had a Blonde Ray, then back on the Bream.
On the way in we stopped in the harbour entrance for a spot of Squid fishing, most of the crew had never tried it before, but we caught a fair few. As we had cleaned the boat and scrubbed the decks on the way in, it was possibly not the best plan, anyhows soon cleaned up.
