It is no secret that the shad rap is a great cold weather cranking baits and straight of the pack they will produce but in this video we break down a few tricks that will help this bait perform better in those cold water conditions. We where faced with water temps in the mid 30's and a slow retrieve along with stopping the actual bait seemed to do the trick. You can weight that shad rap multiple ways and depending on where you put the weight, throat, back treble, etc will make that bait react differently. As you will see in the video Brian talks about how simply adding a larger hook will allow that bait to suspend vs slowly rise. We certainly caught our share of smallmouth and a special shout out to @epicericoffical for the instructions on how to make that bait look pretty with finger nail polish.
