Hey, somebody forgot to press stop on the tape recorder. A collection of television adverts and the nightly closedown broadcast on TNT-9 Southern Cross in Launceston, Tasmania from Sunday, 4 October 1992.

This was caught at the tail-end of a taped recording of the 1952 western "High Noon".

The recording is a bit ghosted as this was taped 150km from the transmitter. Fun fact, the Launceston Mt Barrow transmitter is the second most powerful television transmitter in Australia. Not sure how that is useful in digital television and with translators nearby.

I did have to cut out an advert as it was just a song, but it was from the Krishtin Television Association so I'll save your lunch. And I left the blank space in to show the length of time from the last picture to the carrier cut (aren't you glad there are chapter marks).

Naming and faming tassportslover2013 for being such great help with dates. I may have thought summer, but it's actually spring. October to be exact. You'd think that something like "High Noon" being a nothing-special film that it wouldn't be worth printing its appearance at exactly 10:25pm (pinned comment)but there it was, presumably printed in The Examiner (I don't know a clever pun for this paper, unlike my local Agrovate). Whenever I get a chance, I'll just book it to Hobart (or Launceston) and check out the libraries for useful information. Also the pinned comment has interesting facts about DST.
