This song is really fun to play and is a great intro to Jazz walking Bass if you are considering getting into that style. Also, it's a perfect example of how to loop your Jazz playing with Hip Hop if you are already familiar with Walking Bass.

Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space) turned 30 Years old this year and is still finding new audiences today.

At the time this album came out, I was primarily interested in Rock music and was just starting to get into Jazz, I wasn't a huge fan of Hip Hop because they didn't use "Real Instruments" Thankfully my horizons were broadened as Hip Hop would eventually introduce me to some of my favorite musicians of all time that I never would have heard of otherwise if it wasn't for the Amazing samples.

Digable Planets appealed to me because of the first single I heard by them which I knew as "Cool Like That" featured mainly a sick walking upright Bass Line and some drum loops. They showed me that there was some Hip Hop out there using real instruments and that perhaps I should give some other groups a listen. Thank you Digable for expanding my horizons.
