Two aid boats carrying humanitarian supplies to Cuba have gone missing, prompting a search operation by the Mexican navy.

The vessels, part of a grassroots aid convoy heading to Havana, were carrying nine crew members onboard. Authorities launched the search after the boats failed to reach their destination.
