Chris Squire was a pioneer of rock bass playing and, alongside John Entwistle, set the standard for the modern rock bass tone by using a plectrum to play a Rickenbacker 4001 bass fitted with Rotosound Roundwound bass strings.

In this lesson I'll breakdown the riff and work through some technical tips on the hurdles you're likely to face in learning this classic Chris Squire bass riff.
