How to make SOMALI BAJIYA or BAGIYE | Ramadan Recipes | Naz Ahmed
Salam everyone! As the holy month of Ramadan is approaching, in this week's video, I am sharing with you guys my "healthy" version of the Somali Bagiye or Bajiyaa! This recipe is healthier in the sense that we will be using Avocado oil to fry our Bagiye or Bajiya instead of vegetable or Canola oil. And we will be using a mix of beans instead of flour to make our Bagiye or Bajiyaa. Avocado oil is one of the few stable oil when it comes in contact with high heat. Which makes it a good choice for stir-frying or deep frying.

INGREDIENTS:
Blend to the right consistency (see in the video):
- Dijiir or digiir: Mung whole beans or Adzuki beans
- Mix beans
- Chickpeas (optional)
- Half of an onion to blend
Mix with the rest:
- Another half of an onion chopped very small
- Half of chopped Jalapeno (optional)
- Salt to taste
- 2 to 3 tbsp of flour (optional)
- 1tsp of baking powder
