Montedoro Sicily and Castrofilippo

On this episode of You Me and Sicily we take you to Montedoro in Caltanissetta and Castrofilippo in Agrigento to see majestic vistas and meet the locals! First we sample some typical sweets from the area with local nuts and candied fruits. We also visit with an olive oil producer and sample his oils. There is also an observatory in town with breathtaking views of the area..
We will also take you to the Sulphur Museum and the sad history of mining in the area. Boys called caruso would be used to mine sulphur in extremely dangerous conditions. Many died or developed health problems. We talk to the curator of the museum.
