West Ham United’s first team squad have stepped things up in preparation for the resumption of the 2019/20 season after Premier League clubs unanimously voted to resume small group training.

Our staff and players are strictly abiding to the protocol agreed by the Premier League, all 20 clubs, independent experts and the Government, which enables squads to train while maintaining social distancing.

The intense sessions for each group of 4-5 players are being led by David Moyes and his first team coaching staff Alan Irvine, Kevin Nolan, Paul Niven and Xavi Valero, following warm-ups with fitness coach Josh Ewens.

Working practices will only be extended when the Government give their permission to do so. In the meantime, the Club, its medical and operations team has put many measures in place that go above and beyond the Government and Premier League recommendations to ensure that Rush Green can be as safe as it can possibly be, including health screening and temperature tents for players and staff upon entry at Rush Green and players arriving and departing in their own kit.
