"Our wish is to be independent and to be respected also by the alliances. If we’re still in alliance with the United States,” Pipaluk Lynge, a Greenlandic MP from the pro-independence Inuit Ataqatigiit party, told TVP World.

Greenland again popped up in the headlines as the primary reason why Donald Trump and his administration began to split from NATO. Lynge explains the current moods of Greenlanders, confirming their attachment to the status quo: the autonomy they fought so hard for.

“We know that having an autonomy and a sovereign nation is much more valuable than money itself, [...] we fought for this government, [...] we know that our value is much more valuable than money,” she added.
