Manpriya and Navneet, the founders of Caked India, take you on a journey through their personal experiences and the transformative power of their bakery in Rural Punjab.They shed light on the critical distinctions between equality and equity, illustrating how their work goes beyond mere equal treatment to address the unique needs and challenges faced by rural women and queer individuals.

Through poignant anecdotes and touching testimonials, Manpriya and Navneet share the obstacles they encountered as queer individuals navigating traditional communities, and how these experiences fueled their determination to create a space where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered. They demonstrate how Caked India serves as more than just a bakery – it's a beacon of hope and opportunity, providing training, employment, and a supportive community for marginalized groups in rural areas. Manpriya Makhni is a trained filmmaker with a bachelors in philosophy from Hindu College, Delhi University. She is a self-taught baker/cake designer. She opened a European Indian fusion café in Chandigarh before fine tuning her vision for Caked.

Navneet Kaur is Masters in Computer Applications from Indraprastha University, Delhi. Her natural knack for sales is what made her the co-founder for Caked.

While they run Caked with a mission to somehow empower women from smaller cities and rural area, they are breaking every taboo and acing their life as a QUEER COUPLE.
