Mustang 408w Rotor Phasing

With a lot of trial and error we finally boiled this problem we have been having down to the ignition. The magnetic pickup wires coming out of the msd box were both corroded, and was really contributing to the bulk of our problems, but not all of the problems. After fixing the wiring and we also noticed the distributor gear was not in the correct position so my dad pulled the gear and drilled a new hole in the distributor shaft to correctly install the gear 4” from base of distributor to the bottom of the gear. Before we were around 3-15/16” and that is not within MSD spec. We then figured out the correct wiring from the MSD box to the distributor, which we were looking for the most advanced wiring setup. After all of that, we installed an adjustable rotor which I did have to max out in one direction to get our rotor phasing within spec per MSD. We have not tested the car at the track yet, but we are confident that this has fixed a lot of issues.
