What's like to fly during a Pandemic

In this video we show you what it's like to fly during this pandemic.
We took a flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where we've been for the past 10 months to Istanbul, Turkey.
Turkey is the few countries that has opened up for tourism and after so long we Malaysia we started to have itchy feet and decided to book a flight to Turkey, we were afraid that our flight would get cancelled or that we would have issues entering Turkey or leaving Malaysia after so long staying under a tourist visa but despite our nervousness and anxiety everything went very smooth.

CHECK IN PROCESS
To check in to our flight the usual procedures were applied nothing new or different here (some countries like UK requires people to fill in a health form online 48 hours prior to arrival so people going to destinations requiring this would have to present this to the check in counter staff, in our case this was not applied since Turkey doesn't require any health forms to be filled in before arrival).

IMMIGRATION - STAMP OUT
At the immigration counter in Malaysia they asked us why we have overstayed for so long, the reason was lockdown and since the government in Malaysia gave permission to all foreigners staying under tourist visa to stay until the end of the MCO - Movement Control Order (lockdown in other words)(end of MCO is now 31/12/20) we decided to stay for as long as we could and wanted. They filled in a form for us to sign stating the reason for overstaying and stamped us out, we were not black listed or anything so we can always go back after this pandemic is over and Malaysia opens up for tourism.
After this was time for the metal detector which was completely empty, there was no queues and after the metal detector the corridors of the airport were empty, all shops were closed and it was very strange to be there and seeing an airport like that.
We had to go through another metal detector to enter our gate, again very easy and only the people going in the same flight as us were there.
Before entering the plane we were given a hygiene pack with hand sanitiser, antiseptic wipes and face masks, we found our seats and took off.

DURING THE FLIGHT
It's mandatory to use face masks at all times during the flight a part from when we are eating, we were not given any face shields or anything. The flight was not full there was plenty of empty seats and rows, our row was full so we asked if we could chose another seat were we could have a row for ourselves but this wasn't allowed due to covid19 measures we were told the a member of the cabin crew, we didn't understand why but it made sense later on when they gave us a health form to complete and give to the immigration officers in Istanbul where one of the questions were our seat number, I guess this is in case someone falls ill they would know how was seated near that person.
I guess this flight was not as strict as other flights from other parts of the world since Malaysia has been dealing with the virus pretty good so face shields and cabin crew members dressed in white suits were not required.
The food on out flight was a bit disappointing since we didn't have a hot meal and the sandwiches were not the best quality ones (this was a Turkish airlines flight so we had our expectations high).
A lot of people during the flight were taking their face masks off and the cabin crew was often asking people to put them back on, that was annoying because I would be sleeping and it would be a complete silent airplane when I would wake up to a member of the cabin crew talking to a person in the same area of where we were seated asking them to put the mask back on, they made several announcements during the flight but some people didn't care.
The toilets were cleaned very often like every 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on how busy the toilets were, they would also clean the doors and handles of the toilets almost every time after someone used it.

IMMIGRATION - ON ARRIVAL TO A NEW COUNTRY
Ok, this is the final step, arriving in cold Istanbul and going through immigration there, super easy and stress free - we gave them the health form filled in (flight number, seat number, if we were in contact with someone with covid19 recently, these type of questions), and they stamped us in. The whole process was super easy and nothing seemed to have changed that much.
Hope this is helpful to anyone who wants or is thinking of travelling to a country that is open for tourism right now.
