Both Equity and Debt are important sources of finance for a business, but they differ in ownership, risk, and returns. 💼📊

👉 Equity represents ownership capital — funds raised by issuing shares.
✅ Shareholders are owners of the company.
✅ They receive dividends (not fixed).
✅ Their funds are not repaid in the lifetime of business. 📈

👉 Debt represents borrowed capital — funds raised through loans or debentures.
✅ Lenders are creditors, not owners.
✅ They receive fixed interest, irrespective of profit or loss. 💰
✅ Their funds are repaid after a certain period of time

📌 Example: If a company raises ₹10 lakh by issuing shares — it’s equity; if it borrows ₹10 lakh from a bank — it’s debt.
📍 Conclusion: Equity gives control and profit-sharing, while Debt provides fixed-cost financing without ownership dilution. ⚖️
