Esther Perel interviews Terry Real on March 7, 2016
In this dynamic interview, Esther Perel explores how therapist Terry Real uses what he calls "fierce intimacy" -- a way for couples to keep the passion alive in their relationship by "joining through the truth." Despite our damaged family history (and we all have this; some more than others), we can free ourselves for a more intimate relationship by practicing "relational mindfulness." By telling the truth in a loving way, couples can renew their relationships and heal their pasts. With a difficult family past, Real practices what he preaches and is a shining example of an evolved, healed man, but he says the choice is ours to make.
