Or perhaps even both? I put a 1987 BMW 525e through its paces, to discover just why the 5-Series was held in such high regard. This one has a cleverly-tuned 2.7-litre straight six engine, designed for reconomy rather than power. A very interesting comparison with the Ford Granada of a recent video.
